Hyperliquid Historical Data: What Exists and How to Get It

Where Hyperliquid historical trades, fills, funding and order book data live, how far back each goes, and how to download it, from January 2024 to today.

Hyperliquid has become one of the largest venues for perpetual futures, but its history is surprisingly hard to get. The exchange publishes live data generously, yet answering a simple question like "what did this wallet trade in May 2024?" or "what did the BTC book look like the night of the August 2024 crash?" quickly runs into limits.

This guide maps what historical data exists for Hyperliquid, where each dataset lives, how far back it goes, and how to download it.

Free, no account needed: the Trade Export portal downloads the full trade history of any Hyperliquid wallet as a CSV, from January 2024 to today. It is a free service we run as a public good for the Hyperliquid community.

The short answer

In total, Hypedexer serves more than 4 billion fills, including almost 247 million trades from 2024, each linked to a wallet address.

What the official Hyperliquid API gives you

The public info endpoint is excellent for live and recent data:

  • Recent trades and the live book for every market.
  • Per-account fills through userFills and userFillsByTime. These calls are designed for recent activity: Hyperliquid documents a cap on how many past fills an account query returns (the most recent 10,000). For an active trader or a market maker, that window can cover only a few weeks, so their 2024 history is out of reach.
  • Candles, limited to a recent window per request.
  • Funding history per market.

None of this is a criticism of Hyperliquid: an exchange API is built to serve traders, not to be an archive. But it means that anything older than a few months, or any per-wallet history for a busy account, needs another source.

What the public S3 archive gives you

Hyperliquid also publishes raw node data to a public, requester-pays S3 bucket. It is a valuable resource for teams that want to run their own pipelines: block-level node output, periodic L2 snapshots and asset contexts.

Two practical limits:

  1. It is raw. You have to download, decompress, parse and index terabytes of files yourself, and pay the AWS transfer.
  2. It does not contain a per-wallet trade history for 2024. If you need to know who traded what before late 2024, the archive alone will not tell you.

How Hypedexer rebuilt the missing history

Hypedexer indexes Hyperliquid continuously from its own nodes and has spent the last months reconstructing everything that came before:

  • 2024 trades with wallets. Almost 247 million trades from 1 January to 31 December 2024, each attributed to a wallet. This is the period that most data sources either skip or serve without addresses.
  • Order book history since April 2024. The top ~20 levels per side, reconstructed minute by minute, plus full snapshots about every 10 minutes. Since September 2026, the levels are rebuilt from the full order book of our own node.
  • Funding since May 2023, per market and per hour.
  • Account-level history: deposits, withdrawals, transfers, vault flows and funding payments, which feed our daily account statements.

Every dataset carries its coverage dates in the Historical Trade Archive, measured against the live API rather than announced.

How to download it

Option 1: Trade Export, free and without code

The Trade Export portal is the fastest way to get the data:

  1. Paste any Hyperliquid address.
  2. Pick a date range, as far back as 1 January 2024.
  3. Download the CSV: time, coin, direction, price, size, notional, fee, closed PnL and transaction hash.

No account, no API key, no credit card. We run it for free as a public good, so that anyone (traders, researchers, accountants, journalists) can get Hyperliquid history without writing code.

Option 2: the API

Create a key in the console (the free plan includes 5,000 credits), then query any wallet:

bash
curl -H "X-API-Key: $HYPEDEXER_KEY" \
  "https://api.hypedexer.com/fills/user/0xYourWallet?start_time=2024-06-01T00:00:00Z&end_time=2024-07-01T00:00:00Z&limit=1000&order=ASC"

Pull a whole period with cursor pagination:

python
import requests

BASE = "https://api.hypedexer.com"
HEADERS = {"X-API-Key": "YOUR_KEY"}

def wallet_fills(address, start, end):
    cursor = None
    while True:
        params = {"start_time": start, "end_time": end, "limit": 1000, "order": "ASC"}
        if cursor:
            params["cursor"] = cursor
        r = requests.get(f"{BASE}/fills/user/{address}", headers=HEADERS, params=params, timeout=60)
        r.raise_for_status()
        page = r.json()
        yield from page["data"]
        if not page.get("has_more"):
            break
        cursor = page["next_cursor"]

fills = list(wallet_fills("0xYourWallet", "2024-01-01T00:00:00Z", "2025-01-01T00:00:00Z"))
print(len(fills), "fills in 2024")

Data before March 2025 is served over the API on the Scale and Enterprise plans; recent data is available on every plan. See pricing.

Option 3: from Claude or Cursor

The same archive is available through our MCP server: ask "What did this wallet trade in Q2 2024?" and the assistant queries the data for you.

FAQ

How far back does Hyperliquid trade history go? Hyperliquid's own API keeps recent history only. Hypedexer serves trades linked to wallets from 1 January 2024, funding rates from May 2023 and order book history from April 2024.

Can I get the trade history of any Hyperliquid wallet, not just mine? Yes. Hyperliquid is fully public: every trade is attributable to an address. Use /fills/user/{address} or the free export portal.

Is there a free way to download Hyperliquid historical trades? Yes. The Trade Export portal exports any wallet's history to CSV at no cost, back to January 2024, without an account.

Which fields are available for old trades? Older fills carry fewer fields than recent ones (fees, for example, are recorded from May 2025). The field availability table lists exactly what each period contains.

Do you have Hyperliquid order book history? Yes, from April 2024: top ~20 levels per side, minute by minute, through GET /market/book/{coin}. See our market-maker guide.
